Ashley joined Kinross in 2018 and has been recognized for her efforts to increase employee engagement and create a cohesive, positive team dynamic at Bald Mountain, both inside and outside of her day-to-day tasks
As a member of the Human Resources team, Ashley identified a shortage of skilled tradespeople in the industry and worked to develop the ‘Build Our Own Tradespeople’ program at the local college. Through this program, Kinross has sponsored employees to complete the Electrical Program, where they are provided with hands-on practical work experience in the field. She has also led significant improvements in recruitment efforts through collaboration for internships and student programs.
Ashley has been instrumental in building Bald Mountain’s culture through the organization of off-site ‘Family Days’. In 2024, Ashley hosted two Family Day events that included paddle boarding, games and activities for employees and their families, designed to foster team-building and create some friendly competition. They shared meals, and strengthened relationships outside the workplace, building employee morale.
Ashley’s contributions make her a key member of the Bald Mountain team. In addition to the programs and initiatives she has implemented, she is also a touch point for employees in need of information or support due to her ability to foster an environment where everyone feels safe, valued and welcome.
“Ashley’s skillset and positive attitude have had a direct impact on the culture of the site and she is constantly coming up with new ideas to make us better both as an operation, and as an employer. She truly embodies the value of Putting People First each day.”
