Ethical Conduct

We adhere to the highest standards of business conduct and ethics in all of our dealings and operate in compliance with the law; we expect those with whom we do business to do the same. Our Kinross Code of Business Conduct and Ethics (the Code) defines in detail what ethical conduct means to us. The Code outlines the actions and forms of behaviour that everyone at Kinross must follow to uphold our Company’s values and principles and to comply with the law. The Code applies to all of our directors, employees (regardless of job level) and contractors across all Kinross operations and projects as well as all Kinross-operated joint ventures.

Supply Chain

Kinross takes steps to ensure that our suppliers share our commitment to corporate responsibility and ethical conduct. All vendors are asked to sign Kinross’ Supplier Standards of Conduct (SSoC), signifying that they commit to conduct their operations safely and in compliance with the Kinross Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, including applicable anti-corruption laws, as well as the ten principles of the UN Global Compact respecting human rights, labour standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.

Public Policy

Kinross’ license to operate globally relies on effective engagement with governments. From exploration to construction, operation, and closure, our activities occur within the political and regulatory environments of our host countries. Our projects and our mines can play a significant role – economically, socially and politically – in the jurisdictions where we operate. In order to effectively manage our government relations and associated risks, our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics sets out Kinross-wide guidelines pertaining to political involvement, including political donations. The Code, together with our Government Relations Policy, Government Relations Guidelines and Policy Compliance, help ensure our interactions with governments are aligned, coordinated and in compliance with our Code, policies and all applicable law.

Tax Transparency

With mines and offices in nine countries, Kinross is subject to various taxes as determined under the tax laws of the countries in which we operate. In keeping with our commitment to ethical conduct, we are compliant with both the spirit and the letter of the tax laws and regulatory frameworks in these jurisdictions and committed to transparent reporting on tax matters.
