Geoff Gold was appointed President in January 2024. He is responsible for overseeing the advancement of the Company’s major strategic growth initiatives in Canada and Chile, as well as the Company’s global Legal and Government Relations functions. He joined the Company in May 2006 and was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal Officer in March 2008. Geoff has been a member of the Senior Leadership Team for nearly 20 years and has broad experience overseeing various Company functions including Legal, Corporate Development (including Greenfields Exploration), External Relations, Investor Relations and Communications, Human Resources, Global Security, and Office Services.
Geoff has more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry, having served as Vice-President, Assistant Secretary and Associate General Counsel for Placer Dome for over 10 years before joining Kinross. He also served six years in private practice with the Vancouver law firm of Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP. He completed his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) at the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in 1990.
