Andrea Freeborough was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer on May 1, 2019, and became Executive Vice-President in October 2021. Since joining Kinross in 2009, Andrea has held several positions within the Finance function, and was most recently Vice-President, Investor Relations and Corporate Development. Andrea leads Kinross' Finance function and is also responsible for Information Technology and Investor Relations. She is a recognized finance mining executive with a strong background in financial reporting, business processes, M&A, and investor relations. In 2016, she was named one of the “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” by Women in Mining (UK).




From 1998-2009, Andrea was at KPMG in increasingly senior roles, working at the firm’s Toronto, London (UK) and New Jersey/New York offices, and most recently held the position Associate Partner. Andrea is a Chartered Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
