Check out which Kinross sites received the 2025 CEO & COO Awards for Safety and Excellence!

July 06, 2026

Since 2023, Kinross has been on a journey to redefine our Safety culture, transforming how we work, shaping safer operations, building stronger teams and developing a deeper shared commitment to ensuring everyone gets home safe each day.

As we continue on this journey, we are proud to present redefined criteria for our top site performance awards – the CEO Safety Award and the COO Excellence Award. These awards celebrate sites who exemplify our values and demonstrate exceptional safety leadership while delivering sustainable performance.

Our first award – the CEO Safety Award – is presented to the site that receives the highest scores when evaluated on five main criteria:

  • Safety Leadership;
  • Risk Reduction & Critical Controls;
  • Learning Culture;
  • Resilient System Design; and
  • Care, Trust and Culture.

Congratulations to Kinross Bald Mountain who received the 2025 CEO Safety Award for delivering the most well-rounded safety performance during the year! Bald Mountain was recognized for their standout achievements including ranking first of all Kinross sites in risk reduction frequency with the highest rate of elimination, substitution and engineering controls. They also had the highest Operational Learning Teams (OLT) participation throughout the Company, and strengthened operational resilience resulting in over two million tons of ore moved while reducing the risk of fatigue.

Our second award – the COO Excellence Award – is presented to the site that receives the highest scores when evaluated on five main criteria:

  • Operational Performance;
  • Safe, Responsible Execution;
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement;
  • Collaboration & Organizational Learning Impact; and
  • Sustainability and Long-Term Value.

Congratulations to Kinross Paracatu who received the 2025 COO Excellence Award for delivering a strong, well-rounded performance across all categories of evaluation including exceeding production and recovery targets, leading Kinross’ portfolio in environment and sustainability performance and embodying Safeground principles across all levels of the operation.

Congratulations to Bald Mountain and Paracatu! A special thanks to all of our sites who continue to make significant contributions to our global health and safety goals while prioritizing Safeground principles and advancing our safety journey across our global operations.
