Kinross Tasiast recently kicked off their 2026 Apprenticeship Program, welcoming 60 apprentices to the
operation to begin a 12-month program focused on practical instruction and hands-on training in the field.
The Tasiast Apprenticeship Program is highly competitive, and focuses on providing participants with
mechanical, electrical and welding skills relevant to careers in the mining industry. Participants train
alongside experienced professionals at the site, benefitting from technical guidance and exposure to an
active operation. This year, over 1,885 candidates applied to the program, demonstrating the value of these
educational opportunities for young Mauritanians.
