Our Approach

We believe that responsible mining generates sustainable value for investors, host countries and communities. We prioritize health and safety and strive to create positive economic and social benefits and improve the overall quality of people’s lives in a manner that is sustainable beyond the life of mine, while being responsible stewards of the environment.

Ethical Conduct

We adhere to the highest standards of business conduct and ethics in all of our dealings and operate in compliance with the law; we expect those with whom we do business to do the same.

Workforce

Putting People First means not only creating an operating environment where we never compromise on health and safety, it also means providing a rewarding and meaningful livelihood to the approximately 9,000 people worldwide who make up our Company.

Environment

We work to meet or exceed regulatory requirements in our environmental performance. When operations cease, it is our goal to return land disturbed by mining to stable and productive post-mining land uses and help to secure a sustainable future for host communities.

We generate value for our investors and our host communities, which we measure though Kinross’ “benefit footprint.” Through local job creation, procurement, and tax payments, the wealth generated from our mining activities helps to reduce poverty, sustain strong communities and contributes to improved well-being and prosperity.
