Toronto Ontario – Kinross Gold Corporation announces an extension of the Small Shareholder Buying/
Selling Program
TORONTO, March 5 /CNW/ - Kinross Gold Corporation ("Kinross") today announced an extension of its
Small Shareholder Buying and Selling Program (the 'Program') to May 4, 2001, at 4:00 P.M. EST.
Originally scheduled to expire on March 5, 2001, the Program enables eligible shareholders who own
99 or fewer common shares of Kinross, as of January 4, 2001, to buy up to a board lot of 100 common
shares or sell all of their common shares without incurring any brokerage expense. The purchase and/
or sale of Kinross common shares will be executed through the facilities of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
This extension is being made with the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange under its Policy
Statements.
This is a voluntary program designed to assist eligible shareholders that own 99 or fewer common
shares, to buy or sell their shares in a convenient and inexpensive manner.
Kinross has retained Georgeson Shareholder Communications Canada, Inc. (GSCC) of Toronto, Ontario,
to manage the Program and to handle share transactions and payment. Questions regarding the
