Queen’s University Solar Vehicle on display at Kinross Gold headquarters

Toronto, August 14, 2007 -- Members of the Queen's University Solar Vehicle Team (QSVT) will be displaying their latest competitive solar-powered vehicle outside the corporate offices of Kinross Gold Corporation at Scotia Plaza, 40 King Street West, Toronto, on August 15, 2007.

The vehicle will be on display at the Adelaide Street entrance to Scotia Plaza from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow and members of the QSVT will be available to speak to the media.

The mission of QSVT is to design and manufacture a reliable and competitive solar-powered vehicle for international competition while educating the public on the virtues of solar technology and energy efficiency.

Kinross Gold, a sponsor of the QSVT, is currently studying potential applications of renewable and alternate energy technologies at several of its mine sites. Kinross is the fifth largest gold producer in the world by gold reserves with mines and development projects in the United States, Brazil, Chile, Russia, and Canada.
