Kinross Gold Corporation was established in 1993 and has since grown to become the third largest primary gold producer in North America by reserves.  Based in Canada, with nine mines in stable countries including the United States, Brazil, Chile and Russia, Kinross employs more than 5,000 people worldwide.

Kinross’ core purpose is to lead the world in generating value through mining.  With a growing reserve base, production that is expected to increase 60% over 2007 levels by 2009 and cash costs that are expected to improve as our new growth projects come into production, Kinross is uniquely positioned among major gold producers to continue generating superior value for shareholders.

Kinross sets a foundation for attracting, retaining and motivating employees with a generous benefit program and competitive compensation programs including performance based incentives to encourage employees to perform at the highest level possible through collaborative team efforts.

Kinross’ comprehensive benefit program includes:

  • Health Insurance

  • Life Insurance

  • Employee Share Purchase Plan

  • Paid Vacations

Kinross provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or veteran's status, as required by law. It is the policy of the company to employ applicants on the basis of qualifications and in conformance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Generation Gold Program

Generation Gold focuses on the recruiting and retention of recent engineering, geology and business graduates.

The duration of the program is four years, divided into four rotations across our global operations.

Following two rotations, each participant is offered a full-time position within the Kinross global organization for two years, with the opportunity for placements in both corporate and mine site locations.

Generation Gold provides participants with a wide variety of enriching work opportunities, during which time graduates experience the “full picture” of gold mining in a global environment. A senior Kinross employee mentors the participant at each location, providing ongoing direction, expertise and accelerated development.

Generation Gold offers new graduates with a highly competitive total rewards package and the most relevant work experience for developing career opportunities, including assignments that are diverse, international, and cross-functional. It also helps graduates secure credits towards various professional designations, such as P.Eng.

The international experience, intensive technical training, career development opportunities, and exposure to a variety of projects and mine operations, make the Generation Gold program an ideal opportunity for recent graduates; it is the springboard that can set careers in motion, and accelerate them.
